2026 AASE National Conference
The Australian Association of Special Education present the 2026 AASE National Conference to be held in Darwin
On behalf of the Conference Organising Committee, comprising members of the Australian Association of Special Education, it is our pleasure to invite you to join colleagues from across Australia and beyond for the 2026 AASE National Conference. Held in Darwin, under
the theme Beyond Boundaries, this conference brings together the practical expertise and innovative thinking needed to support students with additional learning needs across regional, rural, remote, and metropolitan contexts.
The 2026 program addresses the challenges and opportunities that are part of Australian education today. Join us as we explore strategies for supporting students with disability in a range of school environments, hear how educators are reimagining pedagogical practice to meet diverse student needs, and discover approaches to build resilience and engagement in challenging contexts. Australian keynote speakers will address the conference theme of Beyond Boundaries, while sessions across four key streams—Innovation in Education, Reimagining Pedagogical Practice, Resilience and Engagement, and Diverse Perspectives—will provide evidence-informed and practical strategies that you can adapt to your own setting.
Darwin offers the ideal setting for the 2026 AASE national conference and the theme of Beyond Boundaries. As a city that bridges vast distances and diverse communities, it understands the importance of innovation and resilience. Building on our previous conferences, this conference will again bring together educators, academics, allied health professionals, community members, and key stakeholders to collaborate, share knowledge, and learn from each other’s successes and challenges. We look forward to seeing you in Darwin!
